Tin Cup

GW Bush announced today a generous program to aid tsunami victims. GHW Bush and Bill Clinton will join in calling on Americans to contribute tsunami aid through existing organizations.

This is a brilliant idea!

If it is successful, it will ease pressure to spend additional public funds for tsunami relief.

Now, let’s take this one step further. Instead of funding the Iraq War from tax dollars, let GW Bush call on patriotic American citizens and corporations to make voluntary contributions to fund the war. Is there any doubt Americans would dip into their pockets and pony up $5,000,000,000 a month, month after month?
