Did GW Bush when asked about Iraq Do you believe its a civil war, sir? actually reply that
. . . its hard for me, living in this beautiful White House, to give you an assessment, firsthand assessment. . . . There are others who think it is. It is, however, a dangerous situation, thereby requiring action on my part.
Listen, I considered several options -- one, doing nothing, and that if you dont believe the situation was acceptable, then you should do something. And I didnt believe the situation was acceptable. . . . [Note 1]
Yes, it is true. As the ellipses above show, there was more to his remark, and its a fair observation that whats quoted above is the least comprehensible of GW Bushs reply to Martha Raddatz question.
